When removing a watermark is fine
Sometimes a logo ends up on footage you have every right to edit. You may have changed your channel branding. A trial version of editing software may have stamped your project. A brand name may appear in the corner of a clip you filmed. In these cases, cleaning up the video is a normal part of editing your own work.
It is a different matter when the mark belongs to someone else. Removing another creator's or a stock library's watermark without permission can break copyright law and platform rules, and Vidzo does not support it. Read our Content Removal Policy for details.
The main methods
Crop. If the mark is in a corner or along an edge, cutting that strip off leaves no trace of it. The cost is a slightly smaller frame.
Blur or pixelate. Covering the mark with a blur or a mosaic hides what it says. It is quick and works anywhere in the frame, although the covered area is visible.
Blend into surroundings. This fills the area using colors from the pixels around it. On a plain sky, wall or gradient it can be almost invisible. On detailed backgrounds it looks smudged.
Specialist software. Frame-by-frame reconstruction tools can rebuild moving backgrounds, but they take skill and time, and results vary.
How to do it with Vidzo
- Open the Watermark and Logo Remover and drop in your video.
- Drag the yellow box over the mark, and drag a corner square to resize it.
- Choose Blend, Blur, Pixelate or Crop.
- Confirm that you own the video or have permission to edit it.
- Press Remove from video, keep the tab visible, and download the result.
The video never leaves your device, because everything runs in your browser.
What to expect
The box stays in one place for the whole video, so the method works best on marks that do not move. Large logos, moving logos and see-through logos are the hardest. If one method looks poor, try another on the same file. Your original is never changed.
Better ways to avoid the problem
- Keep source files without overlays, and add logos only to the exported version.
- Pay for a license or a clean export when you use stock footage.
- Place your own branding in a corner, so it can be cropped later if needed.
Try it yourself
Resize, compress or clean up your video right in the browser. Nothing is uploaded.
